Darkness of Oblivion – Volunteer Worker Bee Empty
PostSubject: Darkness of Oblivion – Volunteer Worker Bee   Darkness of Oblivion – Volunteer Worker Bee EmptyWed Jul 29, 2009 8:01 am

It began as a simple gesture. Wanting to demonstrate loyalty to the colonists, Commander T'Ros and a raft of Romulans showed up first to help with clean up and then with girders and materials to help the Talosians.

Seeing the images on ONN, soon the Vulcans were there with materials. It would be the Anticans who brought the Replicator Giants and began to use the awesome power of the Geo-Thermal Core to replicate materials lost in the Independence attack.

Not to be outdone, soon the Caitians and Tabrine Mandu himself were there working. It was an incredible site. It was only after Mandu arrived that he contacted me to ask for Colony Public Works Assistance in the rebuild.

The city of Boston had held out the longest in the Romulan attack. They had the biggest grudge against the Romulans but the Bajorans showed up and went to work right next to the Romulan Engineers. To make this site even more incredible, there were many Cardassians in the supply line. The Cardassians came here with nothing having been devastated by the Dominion withdrawal but they were working as hard as any race. They were the grunts. It was a new role for them but they relished it. To watch a Cardassian, exhausted from the very hard work bringing water to a Bajoran who had been standing there directing traffic was incredible. Being of Bajoran descent, I was moved to tears.

The workers worked for several days but were with a critical connection component. The truth is the Talosians had stolen it from a transport on their way here. I quickly learned that it was from the Betazoids.

This was our first real test. Stardate 64158, Commander Acrylos Teero contacted Admiral Illyan Coren at Corinthian Station and asked for a Delivery Capacitor to fit a Talosian Reactor.

Test #1 - The Betazoid Task Force Commander accepted the message.... PASSED

Test #2 - Admiral Coren listened to the message.... PASSED

Test #3 - After a long delay, over 2 hours, the Phoenix Colony received this message.

"It is the belief of the Betazoid Alliance that President Johnson reacted without the authority of his military leadership when he enacted the actions against Admiral Hunt. While remaining a strong supporter of the United Federation of Planets, the Betazoid Alliance has filed a formal protest of the actions and will formally support the Phoenix Colony, the Phoenix Fleet and Admiral William Hunt as a point of call. The requested materials will be sent to the Colony as a gesture of this support. Peace be with you all. ~ Admiral Illyan Coren, Commanding Officer, Corinthian Station, Betazed"

Test #3 - PASSED

4 hours later, Stardate 64158.15, the Phoenix Colony engaged the conduit and turned the lights back on.

Like the Phoenix itself, from the ashes, the city has risen again.
