With the demotion of Commodore Monica Montgomery, the King's Fleet had an opportunity to fix a wrong. Admiral Deveniss made the move quickly to get Tan back into the role of Executive Officer aboard the wej'veQ. Everyone knows it will only be a matter of time before he is restored to his Fleet role as well. The report of Professor T'tan has put the responsibility on Montgomery but the court of public opinion is not so quick to exonerate the Hierarchy alien.
The move however was at the expense of the Romulan Saehir Marrus. Marrus' position was largely a political one designed to give the Romulans input and access to the station operations but also because of her relationship with Admiral Deveniss. The truth is many in the King's Fleet leadership, Admiral Viceroy included have grown a bit worried about Marrus because she has a lot of authority since Deveniss requires a lot of rest as a Selayan.
Saehir was deeply hurt that Vice Admiral John Warren, the new Chief of Staff gave her the news and not Deveniss himself. This has further spurned rumours that he was more than a little bit intrigued by the visit from Monica to his quarters.
Saehir was asked to turn over her command codes to Rear Admiral Tan. Tan was thrilled to move from station operations to the executive office. He however was very sad to have lost S'Myy, the nubile young Vulcan had helped him through the very tough time. He was in the office when Saehir arrived. She looked at Tan, "In case you are interested."
She handed the PADD containing the codes to Tan and then in a shocking move exposed part of her breasts for the Clanner to see.
Tan looked at Saehir knowing that she was with his friend Deveniss. Like Deveniss, he has a choice to make.
