Vincent and Bobbi-Lee arrived at the tavern together as Nicole and Velvet walked in. Vincent waved. Bobbi-Lee stood up as the Vice Admiral and her Cardassian cross breed concubine came to the table. Nicole pulled out the chair for Velvet.
Vincent asked, "Have you seen the ONN subspace imagery this morning?"
"I have.", Nicole responded. "I don't give it much credence. Christine and I know where each other stand."
"Yeah, about a twenty two inches apart. The distance of a right cross.", Velvet giggled, putting her hand on Nicole's knee.
Vincent laughed, feeling a nice closeness to Velvet. Velvet had that affect on men having served the Orion Syndicate. She could manipulate them badly because of her exposure to Orion techiques. She however could not manipulate a woman and she enjoyed the chase. She and Nicole were enjoying a nice courtship as a result.
Nicole was timid because of the Teero girls, her failed romance with Trista Coren and her recent whirlwind with Wendy Smith ~ something she truly regrets. Velvet however was much more forceful having spent the last few years with aggressive males. She and Nikki got up and danced a couple of dances. This enticed Bobbi-Lee to get Vincent up there.
Vincent told Nicole that the new classes had begun and Wendy was going to continue as Student Leader. Nicole was happy that Territory Omega business kept her very busy and away from the academy. Nicole was embarrassed and ashamed of the pass she made at Wendy. Wendy and Acrylos need time to get back in sync. Wendy also had to deal with the tragic death of her father on the USS Quasar Quest. No matter what you think of his Sector 31 history, John Smith was still her father.
Vincent picked up Nicole by the hand and lead her to the dance floor. Nicole respected him as a father. The pair danced as a father and daughter at a formal event. Vincent twirled her around. No one in the Omega Fleet or any Star Fleet division for that matter was prouder of Nicole than Vincent. She had taken a dormant colony and made it the hub of the Omega Fleet, the home of the Romulan Federation Contacts in Quadrant, the business hub of the Omega Territory and now the home of the Alliance of Guardians Colony City, Atlantica. Vincent looked at Nicole, not with a romantic love but with the pride of a father.
The moment was very special. Bobbi-Lee could see the warmth in his eyes. Velvet could see the moment the pair shared and longed for a similar experience in her own life. She never knew her father, Thua'ra Varno at all.
Bobbi-Lee and Vincent left the bar but Velvet and Nikki stayed for another round of drink. Velvet took her hand and took her out to the floor...
