"Captain Incomming message from New Terra" replied the Operations Officer over her personal comms. Samantha woke up and quickly came to readiness.
"Transfer it to my quarters" Samantha replied as she made her way to her computer terminal. As the caller on the other end appeared she could not help but smile. "Hello daddy" she replied with a smile.
"Samantha sweetie how goes our newest Captain" William replied with an equal smile. "I hope I didn't wake you I know it's pretty late in the evening even for you."
"I'm fine, is everything ok Jenny's not hurt is she?" Samantha asked taking an immediate worry about her youngest sister who has been though alot in her life.
"I'm fine sis" Jennifer said as she stuck her head in front of her dads. "I miss you and can't wait to see you. Do you think I can come visit the Plato?" she asked as her dad picked her up and moved her out of the way with a smile. As Samantha watched her dad thinking it was nice to see him home and smiling again she began to wonder why she was calling as she saw a women's hand appear on his shoulder.
"Samantha I wanted to be the first to let you know that I have decided to get married again and wanted to make sure that you could make it to New Terra for the cermemony." Her father replied looking happier then he has in a long time.
"Sure dad, no problem I take it you finally popped the question to Erica or did you make a move on Nicole" she replied teasing her dad.
"What about Nicole" Erica said playfully tapping William on the shoulder.
"Hey" he said with a grin "but yes I finally asked Erica and she accepted. We really want you to be there. Erica wanted you to be the Maid of Honor and Jennifer will be the flower girl. "
"I'll be there I just have to find someone to take temporary command of the Plato while i'm home and get permission from Rear Admiral Branson and Commodore Viceroy" Samantha replied.
"Just bring the ship the crew is welcome to come and celibrate with us. I'm sure it will be a big celibration and It will allow your students to get some first hand experience with some of the ambassadors. Please let Nicole that her and Vincent are welcome to come I have already sent her my condolences over Magenta and am working with the empire to bring the mayor to justice for her dishonorable actions. Please don't tell nicole that part I do not wish to get her hopes up if it doesn't come to pass. " William said feeling sorry for Nicole who he thinks of as another one of his daughters.
"Ok Dad i'll have the crew prepare to disembark in the next few hours we are in the process of wrapping up a survey in a nebula by the colony. I'll probably have to swing by and pick up Aunti Nicole and Little B. and i'm sure Uncle Vreenak and cousin D'Solos is going to want to come too. I'll let Uncle Tan know too cuz i'm sure he'll want to come too." Samantha replied
"Captain Hunt to the bridge please" replied her executive officer as the ship went to yellow alert.
"Sorry dad duty calls. I love you all" Samantha said as she went to close the connection.
"We love you too and stay safe." her dad said as he ended the communication.
Samantha threw on her uniform and walked out her door still holding her uniform jacket. Things are about to get interesting she can just feel it.
