Taryn looked at Evangeline, "Why have you been staying around?"
"You need my help, Colonel.", Major Todd responded.
"I could get any soldier to act as my servant, Vengeance. I do not need a marine of your reputation.", Taryn responded.
"I understand that too Colonel but you crawled on top of me when all the Omega Fires were rushing through the courtyard. It is the least I can do.", Evangeline responded.
Taryn reached up and put her hand on Vengeance's, "Dr. Greene has talked me into the replacement surgery. I am gonna hold off on the leg for a bit but the arm should start regeneration soon."
"I heard.", Evangeline looked at Taryn.
"I want to own this experience bit. I created the Strawberry Effect. I created the explosive capabilities demonstrated at Kalama. It is my fault. This is my punishment.", Colonel Strausser looked at Evangeline.
"I need to own my disfigurement.", Taryn looked at the ground.
"Disfigurement. You are still beautiful, Colonel.", Evangeline smiled.
"You don't need to suck up to me, Todd. I have no marine authority anymore. I am retired. I wanna teach these young people what war really means, especially given my experience.", Taryn scolded.
"Besides you have Major Tanus.", Taryn poked fun at Evangeline.
"Don't remind me. The major and I have a history of getting into trouble.", Evangeline laughed.
"And for helping ONN.", Taryn smiled.
"You are a good friend, Evangeline.", Taryn put her hand on Major Todd's once more.
