Nicole stood in the corner at Felicity's amazing gala. Mary Lou Cole would be proud. The Antican call girl has turned into an amazing host. Lavender came over and stood next to Nicole.
"Christine told me.", Nicole looked at Lassie.
"Told you what?", Lavender looked at Nicole.
"She told me that you and your family want to control the colony because of the potential for a wormhole between Outpost 394 and Betazed. She told me that your family would do anything to do that even ask their daughter to woo me to control the colony.", Nicole looked sternly at Lavender.
"As an intelligence officer and someone who has already been successful, you were the perfect operative.", Nicole looked at Lavender.
Lassie looked at the floor, "Its true. Its all true."
"Go home, Lassie.", Nicole started to walk away.
Lavender grabbed her arm, "Nikki, there is something else."
"What's that?", Nicole responded tersely.
"Nikki, I have not been happy since we spilt. I sit on Starbase 234 alone in the lounge and I think of you and Brenna. I miss you both terribly.", Lavender looked at Nicole.
"How could I ever know if you were telling the truth. You lied to me before. You have lied to me since. Your mother hates me. Just go home, Lassie.", Nicole walked over to the bar and got a glass of wine.
Nicole walked outside and looked up at the stars in the Amanda Corridor. The sky was alive with the 5 ships of the King's battlegroup, Governor's Station, Terok Beta and now Second Corinthians. The colony now had more than 15 million people. Nicole wondered about her dream and the dream of Rear Admiral Jake Anderson. Would he be pleased? Was she happy with what happened here?
Lassie came out and stood beside her. She finally broke the silence, "I think I still love you, Nikki."
Nicole looked at her, "Go home, Lassie."
Nicole looked back and saw a face that she had not seen from Lavender... Maybe not ever before....
A honest face...
After a long pause, Nicole reentered the Commune. She wondered, "Is an honest Lavender possible?"
