"What would the Klingons want with the mineral rights near Kalama?", Nicole asked Casey. Dr. Larle was a former commanding officer of the Zoo.
"I am not sure. There should be some research done in the region.", Casey stayed very business-like. She had heard from several students that medical protege had went to see the Chancellor.
"Lavender Coren came to see me today.", Nicole looked at Casey.
"I heard.", Casey now showed her grumpy side. Her gruff response set the mood in the room.
"She is very nostalgic for what Magenta and I shared. Magenta told her about us through her personal logs.", Nicole explained.
"We are all nostalgic for the romance that you and Magenta shared.", Casey grumbled.
"She hugged me.", Nicole tried to be totally honest.
"And what did you do?", Casey responded, standing up.
"I hugged her back.", Nicole responded.
"I thought as much.", Casey stormed into the living.
"As a sister would share a hug.", Nicole tried to explain.
"You know what Nicole. Screw you! You want this as much as Lavender. You want Magenta back. I will tell you this, Nikki. She is not Magenta. She is not your MAGIC. She is Lavender or Lassie or whatever the hell the kids are calling her. I cannot compete against Magenta's ghost. I am not Magenta. I am Casey Larle and I am trying to be your girlfriend but obviously that is not enough. I can't look like Magenta. I can't be Magenta. I can only be Casey and that does not seem to be good enough.", Casey snapped.
"What do you want me to say?", Nicole begged.
"I want you to say that you love me and that it does not mean a thing to you that Magenta and Lavender look alike.", Casey looked at Nicole.
Nicole thought of Lavender. She could not help herself. She was badly torn between Casey and Lassie. This was a huge mess. She knew it. Casey knew it.
"I do love you. I think.", Nicole half wimpered.
"Thats what I thought.", Casey cried out walking upstairs.
"Where are you going?", Nicole looked at Casey.
"I am going to get my stuff. I cannot live like this. I am better than this. Nicole, the universe does not revolve around you and your whims. Despite what you might think!", Casey grabbed a few clothes and stormed from the house.
Nicole sat there alone. She wished Illyan had not sent Lavender to the colony. What a mess this has become...
