Losing Lisa will go down as the most painful event in the life of Vice Admiral Nicole Branson. The Federation could have done anything as a punishment and she would not have cared. They could have stripped her rank, stripped her command even sentenced her to death and she would have not cared.

Erica tried to tell her that she could issue a statement of defense in the hopes of mitigating the verdict. Nicole just signed. She never spoke up for herself. She was guilty. She did this. She was responsible.

Nicole and Vincent were able to tour the cities to look at reconstruction. The once mighty Veltkamp building listed to one side.

The war had been devastating. It had destroyed the cities. It had destroyed the colony. It had destroyed its soul. There was much to repair. Vincent vowed to get this completed.

Nicole went back to her Refugee house. It too was covered in soot having not been lived in several months. She stood by Cardassians returning from New Netherlands cleaning up the streets. She swept up the streets. She felt responsible.

Nicole worked for several hours on clean up and then went into the house.

=/= This is formal announcement from the office of Public Works. The Replicators are now on line. Further updates as they become available. =/=

Nicole smiled at the voice of Acrylos Teero. Things were coming back.

There was a knock at the door. Nicole walked over. It was Dr. Orchid Coren. The doctor informed her that Commodore Viceroy had ordered her to pay a visit.

The doctor and Nicole stayed up late talking about her feelings, her regrets and Romulan Retribution. The Romulans may have actually achieved their ultimate goal.

They may have broken the spirit of Vice Admiral Branson.
