The House of Larle Empty
PostSubject: The House of Larle   The House of Larle EmptyMon Oct 22, 2012 7:08 pm

"I am sorry, Alex. A man needs to be with his children.", Commander Laphe looked at Captain Alexander Paige aboard the USS Independence.

"Even if it means betraying everything he believes in.", Paige looked at Laphe of Larle, the mighty Klingon warrior.

"I do not see how joining the King's Fleet betrays my Starfleet believes, Captain. Viceroy may have more honor than Starfleet Command right now. He left the seat of power to head a tiny fleet and turned an insignificant mining colony to the center of the Beta System. Furthermore, Captain, my daughter Chikace Larle is leaving to return to teaching aboard the USS Trojan Horse....", Laphe lectured.

"Teaching, Alex. The Federation will not give her such an opportunity because she is part Klingon. Admiral Viceroy and Governor Branson are going to let her impart her amazing knowledge and abilities to others. The Federation was once built on legendary values. I served with Major Tanus on the USS Washington in the Epsilon Force. I knew those great values.", Laphe spoke in a warrior tone.

"Those values have been eroded away to the point that the Federation is not a beacon of democracy and light, it is a marker of old world values and beliefs. My son is a commanding officer in the King's. Osama and Casey are going to work together. Now I am being given an opportunity to head security on the USS Providence.", Laphe smiled.

"It is a lateral move. You should stay here. The Independence is a mighty sovereign, a warship for a warrior not a taxi cab for grunts.", Alex mocked.

Laphe stepped forward, "I would rather drive a taxi cab in a foreign land than serve a government that oppresses others."

Alexander secretly wondered how many times those words had been spoken across so many lands across history.
