The Lancelot Line - Part One

Vash walked slowly onto the Tanmesad bridge. He looked at Angie and then the monitor, "What the hell is that?"

"I believe, Gul Enranet that it is the Eagle's Talon, approaching warp speed, not under cloak.", Angie looked at her Cardassian lover.

"Corianna, scan them for weapons activation.", Vash looked at his pilot.

"They are armed but not activated.", Powers responded.

Colonel Teero joined them on the bridge. He looked at Vash, "Why have we gone to yellow alert?"

Vash looked at his long time Bajoran friend, "We have a guest."

"Why are the Romulans here?", Ace looked at Angie. She was very new to the King's Fleet and the rivalry. Why would he ask her?

"Inform Admiral Viceroy, Admiral Laree, Governor Branson and Captain Warren and then open a hailing frequency.", Vash ordered.

Dr. Larle came up to the bridge as Vash pushed the condition to Red. Vash looked at his Klingon Doctor, "Perhaps, Casey, you should speak so as not to aggrevate our guests."

"Guests?", Corianna interrupted.

Casey also served as counselor on the Tanmesad because there was no one to fill the position. She looked at the viewer, "Hey, Kenny, what can we do for you?"

The Klingon tried to sound as casual as she could. She knew Commander T'Ken as Kenny from their service on Ephyra and the Phoenix.

"The Eagle's Talon is here to enforce the Lancelot Line as described by the Peace Accord of Observatory 642.", Commander T'Ken spoke firmly.

"The treaty clearly states that the King's Fleet will enforce the Lancelot Line, the trisect between Darona, Medara and the homeworld of Betazed.", Angoda Anwar interrupted.

Vash raised his hand to get her to be quiet. He pointed to Casey to continue. Casey took a breath, "You are considered in Federation Space, this is a violation of the Neutral Zone Agreement, Commander."

"We are here as guests of the peaceful citizens of Darona. The treaty clearly states that the 5 vessels in the King's Fleet are to protect the ships of Darona from crossing into Betazed Alliance space. The peaceful citizens of Darona have asked for assistance in protecting against the acts of aggression by Captain John Warren, the oppressive authoritarian of the King's Fleet.", T'Ken twisted the reality.

"We will not permit an unprovoked genocide by the King's Fleet.", T'Ken continued to spew propaganda.

"You would know something about unprovoked attack.", Angie snapped.

Vash glared at his First Officer. The Cardassian was beginning to piss him off. He was not about to provoke an attack.

The USS Quasar Quest appeared on the horizon. Before Casey could continue, T'Ken announced, "The Oppressor himself."

John smiled as he appeared on the horizon. He had been listening to Vash, Angie and Casey. He knew what they were up to. They wanted the least antagonistic person to speak to avoid trouble.

John summoned Ensign Clarissa Paige to the bridge.

"The Aquarian?", T'Zohl looked at Captain Warren.

"I think you will be pleasantly surprised.", John smiled.

Clarissa walked onto the bridge in her human body. T'Zohl turned to John, "There has to be a story."

John just winked. John looked at the young lady. She had seen so much. Her father's dishonor. Her own disgrace and her part in the early development of the Death Dilithium. Her own Frankenstien Scenario having her body stolen by Rhythm Dennyson. Now, here she was being asked to speak for the King's against a terrorizing foe.

Clarissa took a deep breath, "If you enter King's Fleet or Betazoid Alliance space, we will be forced to take action."

T'Ken laughed, "The Section 31 agent. The King's Fleet will give anyone a chance."

Angie snapped, "Including you, Madam Mayor", referring to T'Ken's own service to the King's Fleet and the colonies.

Penny Todd came onto the COMM as the Providence appeared, "Whatever force is required."

"A Lance Corporal. Cat your the leadership tongue?", T'Ken mocked.

T'Ken looked at Taleen, "All stop, Mercenary."

"Open all channels.", T'Ken ordered.

"T'Erika, Please announce our position and our intention.", T'Ken ordered her tactical officer.

"The Romulan Star Empire orders the honoring of the Lancelot Line. Any vessel entering Darona space will be considered committing an act of aggression, will be targeted and will be destroyed.", T'Erika announced.

Vash turned to Angie and then opened a private frequency to Captain Warren, "You orders, Task Force Commander?"

John rubbed his hands and then his forehead, "Stand down and allow the Talon to enter Darona Space."

John opened a channel, including Observatory 642, "If the Talon leaves Darona Space except on a trajectory for the Romulan Star Empire, it will be considered committing an act of aggression against the Betazoid Alliance and the colony of Medara. This will be met with all necessary force."

Vincent added, "And will be reported to the Federation as in violation of the Neutral Zone Agreement and will be met with equal force from Starfleet Proper."

John looked at Commander Keystone, "Things just got a lot more dangerous."

Dawn looked at John, "Given our history. I would expect nothing less."
