Getting Patruchio neroQ to come to talk about ending the ground war near Reykja Qam'Chee was a major coup for Admiral Deveniss. The Chancellor is fresh off the destruction of the IRW ship in the Beta Penthe sector. His rebuild is going very well. The Klingons, though technically members of the Federation, are a dangerous and untrustworthy ally.
Deveniss wanted to appear equally as tough. He knew that the Providence and the Lindsay had actually dealt the death blow. He would use that if necessary. Deveniss looked at Monica, "I need to appear masculine, dominant and powerful. I am hoping you can help me with that."
"So you want me to be the little woman.", Monica snidely responded.
Deveniss responded sheepishly, "Could you?"
Monica stormed off. Twice she had been humbled by Starfleet having her rank and position stolen from her. Here she literally had prostituted herself to get back with Deveniss. She has always been held down because Admiral Bruce Montgomery was such a jerk. Now this.
She thought about Deveniss and how he treated her, how safe she felt with him and what he really thought of her. To Dev, she was no object. She was an equal, a confidante and often she ran the station so the Selayan could rest.
Chancellor neroQ and his entourage arrived. Deveniss met with the Klingon. This was a lot of pomp and circumstance bullshit but Deveniss played along. The chancellor introduced his staff. Deveniss nodded in fake approval.
Deveniss followed suit introducing his senior staff. Patruchio responded in kind. He looked at Deveniss, "And where is your mate?"
Even Deveniss was perturbed at the tone of condescension, Monica walked out wearing a very high slit dress, "Over here, honourable Chancellor."
"Well done, Admiral. It is nice to see one of the King's Fleet leaders getting their mates to behave appropriately.", Patruchio let out a Klingon howl.
Deveniss looked at Monica, "I owe you one."
Monica winked, "Damn straight."
