In 2362, the USS Yellowstone was attacked by the Borg. Captain Ivan Younger did everything to evade the mighty Cube but failed to save his ship or his crew. His beloved wife Tania Branson put her two children, Nancy and Nicole Branson into an escape pod. Nancy was a mere four and Nicole just two.
Captain Younger lost his life on that day in 2362. Tania suffered a fate perhaps worse than his; she was enslaved by the Borg. Tania would play a pivotal role in the direction of the Borg a Cubes during Wolf 359 serving as the Communication Adjunct for the attack as Two of Ten.
Their children would fall in space for many days before the pod beacon was detected. Nancy would become a wonderful engineer and gave her life along with Dr. Trista Coren and the USS Princess Diana in her own revenge on the Borg. Their other daughter Nicole Branson would rise all the way to the Presidency of the United Federation of Planets. These girls never let their setback hurt them.
Nicole must feel as though her life has come full circle. She is clutching Jaskalla Naar'Haaj in a tiny pod falling from Platform 2395 or at least what was left of it. Jaskalla was crying but Nicole believed they would be found and wanted to reassure her Tellarite lover that it was just a matter of time. They had been falling for more than two days.
Nicole had no idea how she ended up in the pod or who put them in there. The attack was swift and immense.
