Vanessa had been actively recruiting Raine Vasa and Tasha Viceroy to sit on the helm of the Providence. Admiral Deveniss had told Raine that she would have to give up her captaincy to accept the position on the important Rhodes Island Class vessel.
Raine took some time to decide but she and Tasha really wanted to work with Vanessa again. Raine agreed to accept the rank of Commander and to join the Providence setting into motion the leadership carousel.
Admiral Deveniss took a lot of heat by giving the USS Archangel to Captain Brandon Montgomery. Brandon then promoted former Plato Executive Officer Giancarla Viceroy to Executive Officer. The concern raised by many is that Brandon should not be a Captain as yet; so young. He has served his time on the Plato. He deserves a chance to command the medical support vessel.
Sympathy Ford is a talented pilot who has been supplanted by Raine Vasa. She wanted more. She deserved a better fate. She approached Admiral Tan about assuming command of the Plato. She had always just been a pilot. This was her chance. Tan loved the idea of the marine trained pilot getting a chance to try command. He told the young lady to select her executive officer.
Sympathy selected another Providence cast off, the rejected Alternate Universe child of Belvedere Brown and Christine T'Nley, Jakarta Brown. The brooding Jak has joined the crew of the Plato. He has already been challenged by Tony Todd who claimed the job should have been his. Washington Todd may have been a great choice but he has refused to sign up with the King0s Fleet choosing to maintain his membership in Starfleet.
Jak continues to brood over being extracted from the mirror universe by Brenna Montgomery. He feels like he belongs nowhere. Jak was aboard the Plato working out. He walked into the locker room. Sympathy was slouching the bench.
Sympathy looked at Jak, "It is an expectation that the senior command fraternize regularly in order to establish a union of thought and direction."
Jak looked at the beautiful human, "You don't even know me."
Sympathy looked at her Antican hybrid first officer, "But I would sure like to."
Jak walked away shaking his head.
