Commodore Vincent Viceroy was standing in front of new group of students; a far different group of students than he had been used to. In the crowd now were Tamarians and Jarada. There were fewer Vulcans than ever before; many fearing the wrath of those of little understanding of the politics of the rise of V’Ros.
This is something that will not be forgotten for a long time. Many citizens of the colony had known the horrors of the two wars, the occupation first by the Romulans and then by the Vulcans. Many citizens of the colony; from its very birth on Outpost 295 in the promise of Admiral Tim Veltkamp in the truth that forms its very basis and core; a home.
Vincent felt the word right to his very existence; home. He was intent on making a home here in the Beta Quadrant and that must mean; will mean a home without war, occupation, biological warfare and even the horror of slavery.
Vincent made an impassioned speech about honor, about home and about the Phoenix Federation and what it means to be a part of something greater. Some students listened. Some did not.
The Tamarians have big ownership in the Phoenix Federation. Many of their young men and women have enrolled in the Academy. A Tamarian moon now orbits Station Destiny. The Tamarians want Phoenix to succeed as much as Vincent does.
The Jarada have ever growing ownership in the colony. General Smith pretty much arranged 100% of the manual labour that went into construction here. The Jarada also have Jersey City and are continuing to work to build the Queen Elizabeth II. She will be a fine vessel.
Vincent could care less about her emotional state. Nicole should have been here to watch the classes commence. She would have enjoyed herself as things move more and more towards normalcy.
Vincent went to BLACK after it was done. He and Bobbi-Lee enjoyed a leisurely coffee. Vincent wanted nothing more than more days like this.
