The NX Lexington has an alarming King’s Fleet history. The NX vessel was first discovered on the Phoenix Colony buried in the sand and brought back to life in service to the King’s Fleet. The ship has since had two other stints in the Fleet before its most recent stint having been recovered with Dr. Tremicia Pierce and her medical crew on board having cannibalized the remaining crew. It’s dark history is somewhat synonymous with the work done in the King’s Fleet protected territories – to do whatever is necessary to survive.
The Klingon rebels under Batok were gaining an advantage in the region when Governor Bernice Branson made a deal to add a new vessel to the King’s Fleet. Moyer took great pleasure in providing an ancient NX Class in poor repair. Deveniss chastised the governor for not seeing this coming but Bunny told her sometimes life partner that a ship is better than NO ship.
Admiral Tan and Admiral Illyan Coren were discussing the amazing prowess of Colonel Marky Einstein. The Colonel and her Zombies have held their own against Klingon ground forces. Admiral Tan expressed his admiration for the veracity with which the crazed augment fights Klingons in hand to hand.
Admiral Deveniss met with Commander Sunny Jo Warren about the NX Class and the actions of the Fleet. Sunny Jo was not thrilled with the NX Class either.
Admiral Tan was not thrilled to be confronted by General Trochea. The large Gorn known as Rocky is an alleged concubine of the augment Marky Einstein. Tan tried to tell the large Gorn that his admiration was purely physical. What the Hierarchy Clanner meant was he admired her fighting ability but it came out as “purely physical”. The portly and somewhat naive Clanner has made a new enemy.
Tan asked Admiral Illyan Coren, the aged calm Betazoid to help him make peace with the Gorn. Illyan reluctantly agreed to help the Hierarchy Clanner with his Gorn problem.
Admiral Deveniss continued to look for someone to oversee the project now known as Project Lexington and then hopefully stay on as her Captain. He met with Commander Sulu Viceroy to see if the Trill host of Commander Lindsay Viceroy might be interested in the job. After all her family has been Starfleet long enough that there is a likelihood that a Viceroy has captained a NX Class before. Sulu laughed it off saying she could never leave Sunny Jo. They are a pair. Deveniss was disappointed at the prospect of losing the pair aboard the Quest. He knew he would not be successful in getting Sulu to take the job.
Admiral Tan and Admiral Deveniss discussed the possibility of breaking up Sunny Jo and Sulu. Tan finally concluded that the King’s Fleet has always valued relationships amongst the leadership aboard the bridge crews. This was against the very fleet protocols.
Governor Branson traveled to Earth to recruit potential crew members for the Lexington. She was quickly rebuffed by Admiral Gabriel Moyer and told to leave San Francisco.
The reaches of General Batok go farther than expected as Admiral Deveniss discovered that the General had had contact with Commander Sylvia Coren hoping the Pope Commanding Officer would leak King’s Fleet ship locations so his illegal arms trade could continue to fund his rebellion against the current Chancellor of the Empire. Deveniss was devastated to learn of Sylvia’s betrayal of ship positions.
In her words, no King’s Fleet staff would be put at risk engaging the pirates from Orion or Ferenginar. She was helping the fleet. Her moves may cost her her command!
Life in the regional fleet authority protected territories is never easy.
