Cleveland Powers looked at the Tribunal and scoffed, "So let me get this straight. I am to be tried by a judge who is so afriad that I am some sort of godfather that she will not give her name, by Vincent Viceroy who twice failed as Commander In Chief of the King's Fleet ~ a man who would not even have a job had he not met Nicole Branson years ago at some awards banquet. What award were you up for, Sir? Failure of the Year and you are to judge me. Pathetic."
"And then there's Branson.", Powers walked over and stood next to Christine T'Nley.
"What's your claim to fame again? Oh yeah, you were promoted to Rear Admiral because you sucked Admiral Bruce Montgomery's....", Powers tried to get the words out.
"Mr. Powers.", the judge interrupted, "Please make your statement or sit down."
"I will make my statement ma'am. I move that the Mark IV Torpedo be stricken from the record.", Powers finally blurted out.
"On what grounds?", the judge snapped.
"This was a fire investigation, your honor. Weapons ordinance do not fall under their jurisdiction. The fire investigator is permitted to say that an explosion caused the fire. Captain Phillip Lexington is neither qualified nor competent in military ordinance and therefore cannot determine if the torpedo caused the fire.", Powers explained.
"Bullshit!!", Captain Robert E. Leo, the Caitian Chief of Police and one of the founding members of the Pheonix Colony stood up.
"Mr. Leo. Please leave the court room.", the judge ordered.
"Look! I respect the court and your very role, your honor but this is an absolute travesty. Mr. Lexington is a Star Fleet Medal Winning Hero and he is being treated like a childish moron. It does not take a rocket scientist to make the leap from there was a violent explosion. Oh wait, here is a torpedo housing. I wonder if that caused the explosion.", Leo mocked and then pranced from the courtroom.
There was a fair amount of clapping. He may not be a witness in the case; at least not yet but he has had an impact.
The judge looked at Cleveland Powers, "Mr. Powers. I will allow you to call into question the evidence that the torpedo caused the fire at such time as it comes into examination but I will not remove it from evidence."
Powers sat down re-thinking his stategy. It was the first victory for T'tan and the prosecution in the trail of Cleveland Powers.
