Vincent went to see Lindsay about the Eugenio Coren appointment. He had pulled some strings when Station Destiny had become a fiasco. The resignation of Commodore Tan had left Lindsay in a difficult position and he knew it. He got her an important job with a lot of Star Fleet and Phoenix Fleet contacts. Lindsay had a plumb role. He was furious that Lindsay would give that up for the old Betazoid Admiral.
Vincent demanded to know what Lindsay planned to do now. Lindsay told him that she was going to serve on the Wrath of Prometheus. She told Vincent that she had not desire to serve with a bunch of old people in Wells City anymore. She told Vincent that it was simply not exciting enough. She told tales of the Tamarians, of the angelic Alexia and of Tan himself on the Station and that the retirement community offered none of these events. Vincent demanded to know what would entice her to join the Prometheus.
"Captain S'Nii.", she reponded.
Vincent yelled, "Do you see Baby Nicole? How the hell are you gonna have that joy?"
"I have not thought that far ahead.", Lindsay tried to force a smile.
"Of course not. Or you would never have quit a plumb posting like Wells City.", Vincent turned and walked away.
"If you were my daughter, I would...", Vincent growled.
"Would what, Uncle Vincent. Lock me in a room with 10 boys. Nice.", Lindsay stormed out.
Vincent slammed his fist into the wall, "Damn Nicole and her influence on these people. I just don't understand how she does it."
