Sabrina had spent the evening dancing with Marcus-Brutus and even offered to speak to him again with a soft whisper of "Good Night, Marc."
Marcus-Brutus did not like the shortened version of his name. The Pan'Taar family had chosen the powerful Greek and Roman names as a symbol of their power and enjoyed the references to Earth history. Simply being called "Marc" did not seem to cover it.
Marcus-Brutus was still embarrassed by his Christmas antics and by the humiliation of being driven out by Colonel Mary Elizabeth Pan'Taar, his wife of nearly 30 years. She knew everything about him; his every success, failure and even wher the skeletons lay. Marcus-Brutus enjoyed the attention of the former Starfleet Reassignment Officer who had been lost in the shuffle on Starbae 756 but who had become a star once more in the King's Fleet. She was a symbol of what he hoped would be a ressurrection for him too.
Marcus-Brutus was very uncomfortable when the USS Quasar Quest returned from the Romulan Outpost at Cheron III. Captain John Warren continued to negotiate Romulan interest in the Romulan Ice generated by Colonel Acrylos Teero and Dr. Henrietta Hatherton. He waited for Sabrina to come off the docking tunnel.
Sabrina walked over, "I was afraid you might not come."
"I would come for you, young lady.", the Tellarite smiled, loving the innuendo in those words.
Marcus-Brutus and Sabrina went to Leo's on the Station for supper. He looked at her and thought of Mary Elizabeth. She knew who he was and she still loved him, at least until he betrayed her. Marcus-Brutus looked at Sabrina, "When I first joined the Tellar Fleet, we were fighting a brutal asteroid hopping war with the Denobulan Underground. They were scoring huge loses on the Tellarite Marines. These guerillas were so difficult to discourage. We decided we would scare them."
Marcus-Brutus looked at Sabrina as she tried to interrupt, "Please, young lady. I need to finish. If we are ooing to be a couple, you need to know me."
Marcus-Brutus took a PADD out of his hip pouch and laid it on the table.
"We needed to discourage them at all costs. We captured several of these underground warriors... And we killed them in front of their own men and women, their own troops.", Admiral Pan'Taar explained.
"No... I killed them.", Marcus-Brutus looked at the glass of wine on the table.
Sabrina looked at Marcus-Brutus, "And I had anal sex with a Gorn... We have all done things we are not overly proud of."
Marcus-Brutus chuckled at the reference, "What am I gonna do with you?"
"I can think of a couple things.", Sabrina giggled.
