Michigan Todd has a been a bit of an icon in the King's Fleet marines first for her flirtations with Nicole Branson and Tanus of Gorn and then for her exemplary service to the Dogs of War under General Brown. Mickey has established herself as a tough as nails marine despite her gender. She has done the Todd family proud putting herself up next to legends like Graceland "Lando" Todd or Cleveland Todd.
Mickey was assigned to the Tanmesad to transport Commodore Monica Montgomery to the wej'veQ. She had become a target for a potential assassination out of the T'tan report on espionage in the region. The Klingons wanted to kill her for spying on them. There were cells within Starfleet who wanted to kill her for destroying the proud reputation of the military and exploration arm of the United Federation of Planets.
The Tanmesad was selected because of its significance in the espionage scandal. It was to be a crowning achievement for the King's Fleet but instead the Tanmesad itself has had a setback. The Tanmesad had been docked at the wej'veQ to be briefed on the T'tan report and the standings. The opportunity allowed Bethany Montgomery to work closely with Doctor S'Myy of Vulcan, her former lover and the current lover of Tan of the Hierarchy.
Old feelings are hard to quash. Tan has taken so much. Now this. The Tanmesad was supposed to be at the wej'veQ for the transport mission.
The rekindling of the romance between Bethany and Sammy left Tania without a partner. Mickey was here to serve as a guard for Monica in the transport. She was spending a lot of time with Tania. She came downstairs as the Tanmesad prepared to leave for the rendezvous with Federation One. She found Tania crying. Bethany had just told her that she and S'Myy were trying to rekindle their romance.
Tania had given up a lot in her romance with Bethany. She was devastated. Bethany had largely been raised by Nicole Branson, effectively making the human her de facto grand daughter yet the age slowed Borg Disconnect had tried to establish a relationship with her. Nicole was not pleased ad resented the relationship horribly taxing the relationship between Nicole and Tania. Now Bethany had left her behind leaving her tenuous relationship with her daughter to be dealt with.
Mickey listened to Tania and sat down with her on the floor. Mickey did not what else to do. She leaned forward and kissed her on the forehead. Tania tilted her head back and Mickey leaned in and kissed her on the lips. This was purely out of support. This was not Mickey's intention aboard the Tanmesad. She had taken the assignment to transport Monica because the assignment included an increase in rank and not because of a potential new relationship.
The Tanmesad returned to the wej'veQ with her cargo safe and sound. For many, this was a redemption for the ship that started all this controversy because of wandering into restricted Klingon territories to capture critically important espionage against the rebuilding Klingon Empire. Monica left the Galor Class and went upstairs. She promptly changed her clothes into very revealing lingerie and went in search of Deveniss.
Monica walked into the dimly lit quarters of the Selayan Admiral. Deveniss looked up to see his former lover and betrayer, "Put your clothes back on, Monica. Your actions have destroyed any possibility of any kind of relationship."
Monica stood there crying. She had shed a lot of tears lately. She slowly walked out of the room. Her road back would not be just a matter of dressing the right way.
